Not in every application. Hand-held tools provide mobility and access, while a press offers more controlled motion, force and repeatability. The correct choice depends on the part, production volume and quality requirement.

Some compact tools can be adapted for robotic or custom fixture integration. Mounting, cable management, trigger control, application force and safety must be evaluated as part of the complete system.

Ultrasonic energy must be transferred through a stable contact area. Without proper support, vibration can be absorbed by part movement, leading to inconsistent welding, cutting or riveting quality.
